Today
Lets smile
For the world smiles too
A heart broken and a heart mended
A past fading and head lights flashing ahead
Waiting on the banks of perseverance
Trivia, like a fool’s cage, still questions
Standing, will you?
Or will the world forget you?
I said to all of you
I saw the young child budding
And the woman becoming full grown
Like a missile shooting off
The incident of a new dawn
Damn! We might just make it
To the shores of Megiddo
Where all our battles are won
And the whiff of blood is fragrant
Deep, even as the horse’s beard licks it
We are won by blood
Even in its brutality
Its celebration of pain
And its victory by it
We are won
Interesting title for this poem. The final battleground, laugh into the face of Armageddon.
